It’s amazing that almost one year ago to date, Jakes on 6th Wine Bar officially opened. The crew at Jake’s keeps talking about how they remember unpackaging the couches and chairs, stocking the wines, and preparing for the Wine Bar to open. When the day finally arrived on June 27th, 2009, everyone was excited and nervous for what was to come. But now, we find ourselves going through the daily motions of bar activities and that has become a distant feeling.
In the past year, Jakes on 6th has participated in many different events; from wine tastings to fundraisers. We have met so many incredible locals and patrons just passing through Hillcrest and have held many wonderful celebrations of love. Some of the organizations Jakes on 6th has worked with has been:

It has been only a year and Jakes on 6th has already branded themselves as the up and coming Wine Bar in Uptown San Diego. The bar has been rated amongest the top 5 Wine Bars in San Diego by 944 Magazine and has received great reviews on Yelp. Regardless of where you are living in San Diego, Jakes on 6th has either been heard of or attended by many different regulars.
With all of this being said, we would like to give a warm thank you to all those that have made this Wine Bar succeed this past year. We greatly appreciate all that you have done and said to keep this place here! We look forward to serving the community of Uptown San Diego for more years to come.

Get ready to experience this year’s most tantalizing taste event as you explore the “Taste of Hillcrest” taking place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from NOON to 4:00 PM. Enjoy a self-guided stroll that will take you around to some of the top chefs in San Diego, who are preparing their best dishes especially for you! From scrumptious appetizers to delectable desserts, come prepared to please your appetite. With samples created from over 40 of the area’s prominent restaurants, you are sure to find a new takeout favorite or dining hotspot. Once you’ve had your fill of savory dishes, take a break from the action to stop into over a dozen of the neighborhood’s surrounding shops participating in the 2nd Annual Sidewalk Sale, offering participants a variety of exclusive discounts and promotions. Tickets to the “Taste of Hillcrest” are just $30.00 in advance and $35.00 day of the event and proceeds benefit the Hillcrest Association.
